Like Cala Violina, Cala Martina is in the heart of the Bandite di Scalino Nature Reserve.
It is famous as the place where Giuseppe Garibaldi set sail for Porto Venere, and this fact is remembered in a monument by the sculptor Tolomeo Faccendi situated on the trail that runs through the Mediterranean scrub to the sea and a headstone by the sea.
To ensure the wild nature of this small paradise with its crystalline sea remains intact, there are no bars or food kiosks.
