Cala Civette is one of the many beaches in the Follonica Gulf, near Cala Violina.
The beach boasts all the typical Maremma colours: deep green Mediterranean scrub that frames the straw yellow beach, lapped by the crystal green sea.
Torre Civette was built in the 14th century and dominates the promontory, giving the beach its name and is one of the most uncontaminated and most natural sites in the area. It is the ideal choice for lovers of the beautiful Maremma sea views and the quiet offered by an exclusive beach.
Cala Civette is easily reached by car from Castiglione della Pescaia. When you arrive at Pian d’Alma, follow the signs for Punta Ala where there are several parking areas. To reach the beach you can cross the Alma River or follow trail n. 1 of the Bandite di Scarlino; the panorama that opens before you makes the walk well worthwhile.
